We work summer hours, uhm, in summer. It is 7am to 415pm Mon thru Thur with Friday being 7am to 1145am. Well this is the as close to 7am I can get. I luv work. Treo Out.

So my best buddy is off playin in Vegas and I get the pleasure of dog sitting. This is Kirby a 9 year old Pug. Aint he a cutie?! Treo out.

We have not had significant rain since the major hail/wind/rain storm of May 19th. So here I am dragging the hose around. I am more wet the the grass. Treo out.

26 miles so far this week. I am averaging 16 mph 22 mph max with aprox 1 hour ride time. Treo Out.

flickr really is cool. you can do so many things with your pics. its the ultimate photo sharing thingy in the internet world.
where's the crapper pic? i am working from home today so no need to hide out on the shitter.
later.

I find having a crappy day at work combined with instant mobile interet access I spend more time in the john. Treo out.
Road bike views are not as scenic as the singletrack, but the workout is still solid. I took a quick 10 mile ride yesterday and the Trek 1000 can fly. I am camping this weekend and have plenty of mountain biking in the plans, but this week its about the road. Treo out.

I really love this biking thing. I have been mountain biking this summer and just did 10 miles last week, which makes for 200 miles of off road singletrack this year. Mtbing is fun but I have to load up all the gear and take a car trip over to the singletrack fun. Sure I can ride it around town but it's a mountain bike!
So I got me a new toy. A 2005 Trek 1000 road/racing bike. Now I can just hit the road from the house. I am in the Chicago Burbs, but just west of where I live there is plenty of country roads with minimum car traffic.
I got a great deal and service from Richards Bikes over in Palos Hts.
Later.

Its crazy how much this dog luvs me. Even more crazy is how much I dig him. Eddie Vedder the dog you rock. Treo Out.

Poker Fight Night tonight and loading my frig made me think of MTV Cribs. The stars always have their frig so nice and clean. What's in your frig? Treo out.

The birdies have hair and seem to barely fit in the nest. We don't see Mom around much??? I wonder how long before they fly away?? Later.

This is must have when climbing roofs in 90 degree temps. I luv my frosty delight. Treo Out.

Remember my bird nest situation? Well I am glad I did not disturb the nest. So far it seems the birdlings are doing well. I was checking them out and it appears they took the noise to mean feeding time. Good thing the Treo was in hand. Cool Pic. Treo Out.

More warnings. More potential bad weather. Welcome to life in the Midwest. Treo Out.

While on a semi camping holiday in central Illinois with the In-Laws I decided to mount up and hit a local trail. Jim Edgar Panther Creek State Park has 25 miles of mountain biking single track. My goal was to ride the 17.4 mile loop.
Uh, yeah, I said goal and I didn't make it. I barely even found this State Park. It was out in the middle of no where. After I found the park and the trail head I got right to it.
This was my first singletrack ride with the new CrankBrothers Candy C SL clipless pedals. Yes I was attached to the damn bike. Well, I was for about ten minutes. I missed a poorly marked turn and went to stop to turn around when I realized holy shit I am clipped in and not moving........BAM I fell over. I laid on the ground still attached to the damn bike. The rest of the ride was "un-clipped." Several minutes after this fall I went flying over the handlebars when the front tire dumped into a covered hole. No injuries, just good fun.
The singletrack was rough and not nearly as used as Chicagolands. It was overgrown in spots. It followed a lake and weaved in and out of the woods. That part was cool. I only saw and got passed by one other rider. No other peeps were seen.
At the ten mile marker I got a flat. Not the front but the rear, which is a bitch to change or fix. Well, so I have heard because I did not have a spare tub with me to try. Yep, 7 miles to go and I was walking.
While walking it began to rain, I picked five ticks off my lower legs, I lost my riding glasses, and I developed bloody blisters from walking in my new riding shoes. The blisters hurt sooo bad I could no longer walk, but I had 3 miles to go. Nothing like finishing the trail in pouring ran with a totally flat rear tire. I am sure I need a new rear rim now?
The epic ride and walk took me over 3 hours when it should have been more like 2 hours. Plus to top it all I have poison ivy on my arms and legs!! Good times.
Epic Bike Ride Out. Later.

Just a great pic of Eddie Vedder, the dog, from the car ride home this past weekend. He played hard and is still recovering. He roamed free and off leash with Lakota, Zeke, Vito, and Tipper. They had over 12 acres of wooded land out in the middle of no where to patrol. He loved it. Flickr Out. Later.

This turned out to be an epic ride. I rode, walked, it rained, I got a flat, and severe blisters. More on this later. Treo Out.

Left the big city and BAM........the sun appeared at 8pm. It was 8pm and blinding. Treo Out. Later.

It is hard to see bot yes I rode 19.64 miles on Saturday. It was 1 hr 32 mins with 12.7 avg 28 max. My longest and hardest mtb ride yet. Can not wait for the Contender fight! Work sucks so it is quick Treo post all week. Later.

Yeah flickr finally started working for me again??? I have fallen short of the 40 miles ridden weekend goal, BUT I did hit again today.
I had a few beers last night which made this ride a toughy just to get started. I almost did not go, but I am glad I did. It was beautiful here in Chicagoland today! Despite the heavy rains Saturday morning the singletrack was in great riding shape.
The Ride Stats Please: 7.71 miles in 54 minutes with an avg speed of 8.6 mph and max of 19.9 mph.
That makes for 22 miles of singletrack goodness I rode. My legs are sore and my neck is barking at me. Twisting and Turning and Jumping in the woods is fun and HARD stuff.
Did you see The Contender? I did and I loved it. I was tricked in to believing Jesse was mentally and physically beaten before the first bell ever rung. His words and his body language were that of a beaten man. Add to that the determination and confidence of Anthony and I thought no way in hell Jesse wins.
That seemed to be the case until the last round. Then BAM, Anthony got nailed with that one punch. The one all boxers fear. The one that can come from any boxer at any time. Right on the jaw! Did you see his head and neck just whiplash back? He was out on his feet. I was yelling, "STOP THE FIGHT!"
I was not an Anthony fan, but I did not want to see him get hurt.
Holy Crap did you catch the preview. I think Manfredo gets a second chance at Alfonso? That would be a seriously fast turn around for Manfredo as he just fought. Don't boxers normally fight just 2 to 3 times a year?? I hope I am wrong and these two do NOT fight until the final.
Long post. I am out. Later.

Urban Myth is that this trail goes on if you dare cross the river. Really, some say there is more singletrack madness on the other side. I think I will be waiting for the Summer Drought before I attempt to cross.
It was another Spring Day! Our second day of Spring here in Chicagoland. I managed another ride out at Knock Knolls. Same route as yesterday, but I tried to focus on my skills. Staying relaxed and loose and keeping those damn feet on the pedals when jumping logs and other roll overs.
So the stats are: 7.24 miles in 49 minutes with an avg speed of 8.7 mph and max of 16.1 mph. Great sunny weather and a great spring ride.
Time for some Survivor. I am out. Later.

Finally Spring has sprung in Chicago. We had to wait for May 4th, but I think it is here for good. This was me and the flowered singletrack on my ride today. Everything is starting to dry out and green up out in the forest.
Yesterday I told the wife I was getting in atleast 40 miles of mountain biking this weekend. So I cut out of work to get an early start. Forty miles may not seem like much, but we are talking singletrack not road miles. Plus, I aint in the greatest shape as I have not hit the gym for over a month.
Today was sweet. I was the only person out on this trail. This trail has only 5 miles of singletrack, but it is close to home and rarely crowded.
Just the Ride Stats Mam: 7.24 miles, 51 minutes of ride time, & 8.4 mph avg with a max of 16.1 mph. I picked up a new wired cyclocomputer and it tracked the stats like a champ. The wireless model is a chump.
How about some quick hits???
Why did Rob not listen to Amber and yeild Uchenna and Joyce? They are the best team in the race. He just didn't look at the big picture. Merideth is a guys name?
Why does Extreme Makeover Home Edition make me happy? Am I that easily entertained?
The Shield is a freakin awesome show. You MUST check it out, Tuesdays on FX 10 pm eastern.
The Chicago Bulls need to get their heads out of their arse compartments. Four minutes to go and they are down 8 at home.
I am out. Later.
